Armandina Rodriguez

Armandina Rodriguez, 90, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully at her home in Fostoria, Oh on Sunday, July 13, 2025. 

She was born July 20, 1934 in Waelder, Texas to Ascension and Simona (Martinez) Hernandez. She married Antonio Rodriguez while he was serving in the U.S. Army on January 26, 1953 in Chicago, IL and he preceded her in death on March 8, 2018.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her children, Antonio (the late Dorothy) Rodriguez, Donald Rodriguez (Kim Peterson), Joseph (Agnieszka) Rodriguez, and Mary (Jose) Chavez; 14 grandchildren, Jennifer (Jose) Gutierrez, Rebecca Rodriguez, Anthony (Eliza) Chavez, Marc Rodriguez, Martha Rodriguez, Liam Rodriguez, Morgan Rodriguez, Nathan Rodriguez, Josh Rodriguez, Alec Rodriguez, Daniella Rodriguez, Joey Rodriguez, and Justin Rodriguez, and Nicky Rodriguez; five great-grandchildren, Marc Rodriguez Jr, Izabehla Rodriguez, Allesse Rodriguez, Enrique Rodriguez and Sofia Rodriguez; sisters, Susie (Jack) Garn and Lupe Sanchez; and brother, Joe (Brenda) Hernandez.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband one granddaughter, Paulette Healy; and numerous siblings. Armandina was a stay-at-home mother, taking care of her family until her children were older, then she and her husband Antonio began to enjoy traveling together. She made a long life of family joy and faith in God.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 3-7 p.m. at M. Martinez Funeral Home, 5800 W. 63rd St.

Inurnment will be held privately at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL on August 25, 2025, at 1pm.
